May 4: Webcast - Making Sense of Mobilehomes – Homeowner and Tenants’ Rights

Approximately 6% of all occupied housing in the United States consists of manufactured homes (generally referred to as mobilehomes). This almost uniquely American version of housing has been and continues to be a more affordable option for many people, but it is an option fraught with dangers that most homeowners do not understand or consider before making that choice. It is also an option regulated by an array of regulations, intended to protect homebuyers/homeowners that this training will cover.
Attend this training for an overview of key issues and legal concerns from the perspective of homeowner and tenant advocates, and for information that can help you assist individual homeowners and tenants facing the possibility of repossession, defects in the home itself, or experiencing fair housing problems at the hands of their mobilehome park.

• Legal framework governing manufactured homes, including both federal law and California’s own regulatory strictures
• Financing issues and repossession
• Renting and fair housing problems
• Foreclosure process (California focus) and what issues are being litigated right now
