Thomas J. Carr, Esq.: After graduating from Law School, Tom moved to New York and worked in the Office of the District Attorney in Brooklyn, prosecuting serious crimes including narcotics and gang violence. Thereafter, he entered private practice focusing on Criminal and Civil Litigation, including Family Court, Surrogates Court, Criminal Court, Housing Court, Civil Court and Supreme Court cases. In 2004, Tom became a DWI prosecutor for Delaware County. Later, as Bureau Chief in the Special Victims Unit in Rensselaer County, Tom regularly handled felony and misdemeanor sex crimes, domestic violence, crimes against children and crimes against the elderly. In addition to his work at the offices of the District Attorney, Tom joined the New York State Assembly Minority staff as an associate counsel and later became Deputy Legislative Director.
Tom is often called upon by local and national news organizations to comment on prominent criminal cases. He has been called upon as an expert in both the political and legal fields for Fox News, Capital News 9, News Channel 10, CBS 6 and News Channel 13, as well as National Public Radio (NPR) and WGY, making numerous appearances on the Al Roney Show as well as The Tully Rinckey Legal Power Hour, and the Ask the Lawyer segment on WGNA and WBZZ.
