April 24/NYC: New York State Foreclosure Laws, Defenses and Settlement

Learn about the foreclosure process, the laws that govern it, including the law mandating settlement conferences for all residential foreclosures. The session will review statutory as well as common law defenses and counterclaims, including lack of standing. We will further consider the various loss mitigation options, including the “Home Affordable Modification Program” (HAMP).
